The Picciano Family—Nick and Jorun—have been loyally serving as foster parents with Children's Home Society since 2009. On October 5th in our nation’s capital they will be attending the Angels of Adoption Gala as West Virginia’s Angels in Adoption honorees. Angels in Adoption allows members of Congress to honor extraordinary individuals, couples, or organizations who provide to children in need of homes.
The Piccianos have been a dedicated and integral part of the Children's Home Society Family. Their first foster child placement almost immediately followed on the heels of their final approval process in 2009. Moments later three year old Joshua—who hailed from Wheeling and had already been shuffled through three foster homes—was placed with them and their four biological children: Jacob, Michaela, Jacynda, and Lucia.
In February of this year they adopted Joshua, providing him with a permanent and loving home—a family to call his own.
That is the mission of Children's Home Society and the Piccianos exemplify this by their continued commitment to their family and the children we serve in this area. Joshua is a very lucky boy; and we wish the Picciano Family our congratulations on this distinguished honor!
