Lisa Doyle Parsons and I return from PA and the MANY conference

LIsa and I represented the agency at the annual Mid Atlantic Network for Youth (and family services) conference in Bedford Springs this week. This is a gathering of (mostly) Runaway and Homeless Youth grantees in the region (PA, MD, VA, WV, DE, and Washington DC) who gather for workshops of relevance to our work with the target population, and for workshops on non profit agency management. There is a wealth of knowledge about trends in the field, and best practice, and models for youth agencies of all levels of experience. It is a time of networking and "getting away" from the office, that is very positive and successful over the years.

  1. The MANY Conference was very beneficial from both a training standpoint, and it was also a great opportunity to learn about the experiences and challenges faced by other regional BCP and TLP programs...particularly interesting was connecting with other programs who also utilize host homes in serving their runaway and homeless populations. Hats off to our esteemed Regional Director Steve Tuck who deservedly received the MANY Outstanding Youthworker Award, an award given annually by region to only one outstanding leader and pioneer who utilizes innovative practices in exhibiting their dedication to positive youth development. Congratulations to Steve in recognition of this great honor, and as an expression of thanks for your tireless efforts in furthering the cause of youth and families throughout the state.

  3. Absolutely, so modest, deserve the recognition though you aren't driven by the "need" for it, is what makes you extra deserving. Did I say you're welcome (haha).
